Low fat mayonnaise

Just seen an advert for low fat Hellman's Mayonnaise. It said "3% fat". Now, mayonnaise is traditionally made with 80% fat. It's pretty much just oil, eggs and vineger.

So in this low-fat "mayonnaise", they've removed the 77% of the ingredients, and replaced it with... what?

How about...

"a continuous aqueous phase containing a semi-gelled system comprising a non-amidated or amidated galacturonic acid methyl ester with a degree of esterification below 55% (LM pectin) to replace part or all of the fat in order to make a mayonnaise that has organoleptic characteristics that imitates real mayonnaise."

(this doesn't actually relate to Hellman's Mayonnaise, but you get the idea.)

Look, if you want to lose weight, you just need to use more calories than you consume. Low-fat mayonnaise will kill you.
