So there's no right answer to the question of what constitutes ethical food:
- organic food pushes up the food miles,
- locally produced food puts third world farmers out of business, leaving them starving, unable to afford medicine and education,
- free range food is a very inefficient use of resources compared with battery farms,
- lacto-vegetarians (that is, veggies who get their protein from dairy) have no use for male cattle, so they have to be shot at birth,
- fairtrade... well, I can't think of anything bad about that, so you'll have to google it yourself.
